turbo question

If you were to change a stock turbo on EVO VIII and all you wanted to do was unbolt old one and bolt new one in what would you suggest? Will a exo IX work? oe would you stay with factory VIII new one? I don't want to change anything just take old one out and put new in....

A IX turbo is a good upgrade from the VIII, especially if you have the 9.8 hotside.

What year is your VIII?

An Evo IX turbo is a good upgrade to an other wise stock VIII and when you do go with a MBC later you will be able to get more out of it without surge. If you do this however, you will need to get the IX compressor outlet pipe because the VIII one won't work. Some people say you need the oil and water lines too but those can be bent to fit. I recommend getting the correct ones though. Every one says that they don't want to change anything else but once the modding bug bights. . .

I hope this has helped you a little bit.
