i believe for the evo series

only the jdm evo 3 have anti-lag system equip as factory standard

but its not practical so they ditch it as you need to reconditioned the turbo frequently?

Are there even any turbos that can handle an everyday anti-lag system?

I have a switch for it with my Autronic. It's nutz. Was fun a couple times to scare people but I never turn it on anymore. I run a 2.4 with 35R.

there is...the factory turbo for evo3
it can handle anti lag
but i think you need to service the turbo every 10k miles
its possible for any turbo as long as you have the money
i believe
but if you are looking for budget...then i dont think theres any possible way, it is possible, its just that the maintenance cost of the car or upkeep cost will be more

i reckon...

your best bet [to stay reliable] is to get the NLTS mod.

emagine all that unburnt fuel in the exhaust with a load of nice cold air!

lag? what lag? lol

there wasn't too much detail on it but basically they vented the BOV back into the exhaust manifold. this ment there was not only unburnt fuel in the exhausty manifold but also fresh air! put the two together with the still burning mixture and you get a anti-lag systme to smash all others!

as for turbo that can take antilag? well the GT series are pretty good. also alot of the race turbos out there can take ALOT of abuse! they run very strong Ti (and i dont mean thin light weight) shafts and very strong exhaust turbine blades. these aren't the best for the street but are great race trubos!

It really isn't anti-lag though. It is a rev limiter that cuts spark. Good for launches, but true anti-lag will also work at lower RPM's and under many different situations than that rev limiter.

I brought up the idea in an old thread https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=281657

No one really had anything negative to say. You would just need a one-way valve that could withstand some really hot temps. On another forum somewhere it was suggested that I put a TB infront of the turbo that closes at shifts.

your right mate there is nothing saying it cant be done. as for the temp, it wouldn't get realyl hot as the gasses are only going one way, into the manifold! it could make the manifolds very complex as you would have 6 pipes/headers going into it (1 from each cylinder, 1 for the WG and the 6th form the BOV).

Cheers

is that a 2step kit?? if so then yes they are very good for launches but dont do anything for gear changers or when you come off the throttle then go WOT. as said before anti-lag works on over run. it has to be built into the ECU as you dont actually cut the spark you jsut retard it.

Cheers

Chris.
