California seems like the best and worst place to live. Between your guys car and gun laws I think I'd go crazy though.

My guess is a FMIC is darn near invisible when compared to a stock wing that looks like a park bench and big **** rollers that most CA peeps put on their ride.

Do either of you currently live in southern california? I do & I was born & raised here since 1965. I have seen how law enforcement have been getting tougher / just giving people grief if they think there is an oppurtunity to do so.

i want to minimize that chance. I wished i live in an area where i didnt have to run a muffler & can get awaay with every aftermarlet mod & run an open w/g dump tube.....but i dont, so i make do with what i have.

besides, i bought an evo because it's like driving my old tony shifter kart on the street with a/c & the ability to carry my kids along too.

as for stealth look is bad or ruins the look of the evo, enjoy your ricer exhaust with spinning wheels, i dont care to comment 1 way about what looks cool for you or anyone else. More power to you if you prefer the car the way it is, its your car, enjoy it

I see more cars than ever pulled over with their hoods popped open & the police looking in shining their 6 cell mag-lites looking in thier engine compartment for something.........No $hit.

my guess, thier not looking for crack or an illegal alien or 25 of those bastards, thier looking for a f-ing boost controller or any reason to give you a citation. yes, it sucks, but i guess that comes with the sunshine tax

it's crazy & wrong whats happening out here. Knock on wood, i have only been pulled over once in my evo.....i gpt pulled over when i was driving under a long underpass & evo exhasuts are louder than other cars. i was asked about the exhsut & i wasnt given a ticket.

just view www.socalevo.net & see how many people get pulled over for nothing.....yeah, you get your fair share of foools that are doing silling things justifying them getting pulled over.

I honestly believe the reason i have been hassled less than other is purely based on the fact of "profiling" by the police....maybe i am wrong....certainly wouldnt be the fist time & definately not the last.

btw, nice avatar jeff jarske....is that your entertianment center?

^ I lived in San Diego for 5 years but that was more like 10 years ago so I'm sure its gotten much worse. I'm sure the stormtroopers more thorough these days.

I just think that when it comes to negative attention the FMIC is the least of your worries.

I'll duck out of the thread now, sorry for intruding.

California has additional training they put their officers through specifically to recognize aftermarket performance parts, you can thank street racing for such attention.
