Bulletproof Trans & Diff ?
Bulletproof Trans & Diff ?
I may be possibly picking up a used evo 8 or 9 soon and would like to know if there are any shops that can build or sell a trans for an evo that is setup with more reliable or stronger internals than stock ? A local shop told me that the 6 speed in the mr has more problems than the 5 speed ? Is this true ?
This is opposite of the subie's cause the 6 speed in the sti is way stronger and durable than the 5 speed in the wrx.

Are you going to race the car frequently on the track/autocross? If it's a daily driver and you're not going to abuse the car frequently, there's nothing wrong with the 6-speed at all. The 5-speed just holds up better under heavy abuse.
Its just a DD so just plain old common sense should keep the driveline together with no issues.I'm new to the evos and I just keep reading about transmission problems. It must be with people who launch their cars a lot,or abuse it.
We also offer transfer case and transmission services. For more information please call 440-839-1900. Ask for Dan. He will be glad to help you out.
