hey i was sitting on the can doing some of my best thinking and i was just wondering would it be possible to switch the 5 speed with the 6 speed and the linkage?!?!

Yes it is possible. The connections for the speedo and reverse are the same on the 5 and 6 speed. Just need 6 speed linkage ,shifter and base , and also the shift boot ring . The tranny mount for the 6 speed is a cast piece , while the 5 speed is a stamped steel design.

 

Not worth!!6 sped love to break and the ratio is very short gear!!Get a Shep or TRE is more woth in my opinion

 

Why would you wana do that anyways? The gear ratios on the IX tranny are almost identical as the 6sp meaning that you at some point will be hitting the rev limiter in 4th once you start making good power imo

 

Not worth the headache. It might cost the same or more as selling your car and buying an MR.
