Dilemma! I need exhaust advice!
Hey guys! I want to take my exhaust and make it a true turbo back system.
I recently purchased an '06 IX MR, and it came with:
Full-Race Turbo Manifold - Swain Tech White Lightning Coated
Works Exhale 76mm Downpipe - Works Ceramic Coating
Works Exhale Axle Back Muffler
I definitely want to pick up and Evo Power Mods O2 Dump Housing, but I've been also toying with the idea of picking up a Cobb TBE system. It's such a nice system.
Here is my dilemma.
A Cobb TBE system will be just about $1,000. On the flip side I can also spend $618 and pick up the Works Exhale 76mm Intermediate Pipe and Exhale Resonated Test Pipe which would give me a 3" OD TBE system.
What do you think I should do?
Some advice would be appreciated. I won't be able to check this until later tonight, so please, any opinions would be great.
Thanks.

no way.... works products do not make that much power. I would sell what you have first and use that money to get a better system. You will be shocked at the price you will sell the works for.
Thanks for the input. Anyone else care to chime in???
If I did decide to sell both Works pieces and get the Cobb, I'd have to wait until after I installed the Cobb since I don't have the stock downpipe and axle back.

Do it right the first time get the cobb.
If you want you can get the cobb down pipe and catback only. The testp pipe you can purchase separately preferrably the Megan Racing because it has a resonator to further quiet the system.
Spend your money wisely and do it right the first time. Cobb is an excellent sounding quiet system, fits great, and looks awesome. Also its a full 3" system to take full advantage of most your current and future power needs.

I agree BluEVOIX. I tell all my friends the same thing. Do it right once.
I just read up on the Megan Racing website, but is their resonated test pipe 3" Inner Diameter? Does anyone know the same about the Cobb TBE? Is it 3" Inner Diameter?
Thanks guys!

The Cobb system ~3" inlet diamter and does not taper. I verified by dropping a piece of cardboard that is a little less than 3" inches inside the exhaust and it fell through. I was also able to shine some light inside before hand to see if there are visible signs of tapers and there werent.
Only reason I didnt get the cobb test pipe is because its not resonated. I want to take full advantage of making my exhaust system as quiet as possible with a resonated testpipe.

Well, I called up Cobb today and they confirmed that their piping is 3" Inner Diameter. They also told me that their TBE is designed to work with the stock pipes, so their downpipe, and catback should work with any aftermarket exhaust piece meant to work with stock exhaust parts. My decision will be mostly dependent on price, so we'll see what happens.

Really how does a 3in downpipe make less power than others. Also since their exhaust is all 3in how does it make less? Like ebay parts make more power....
