So the original poster asked if 9 cases are stronger than 8. I would say most definately not. they are the same.

I believe the lsd causes more breakage due to having more hook on the line. The weaker two spider front diff breaks less because it allows the front tires to spin more. thus acting like a fuse in the drive train.
yes i am aware all ring and pinions are the same and yes the VIII ACD is same as IX.. yes i know all that i guess my 1st post should have been completey thorough..

And sorry i disagree that the ACD cases break more often.. in your area maybe not but in my area the VIII cases break more so i will say the IX Tcase is stronger " In my opinion"... also, according Shep spinning isnt the answer for not breaking.. I went thru that when i broke a brand new tcase spinning on DOT's 2nd pass.. I have an RS diff tcase that has 20+ hard slick runs w/o issue now..
