Evo ix T Case
Evo ix T Case
my t-case is fine. but just wondering how much beat can they handle i only have minor bolt-ons are the ix t cases better than the previous generations?
for me t-case failure is most likely caused by a) launching the car too much b) not changing the gear oil on time or putting in wrong fluids c)a combination of the 2.
i didnt know that 2nd gear rolling can damage the t-case since the car is not stationary.

launching too much, like 3 times a day? is that too much.

why do you need to launch the car so much . . . i never launch mine. dont need to most races froma roll anyways cuz they dont want to race froma dig. dont launch it as much lol or at all
I think they are pretty strong. I know basically NOTHING about them mechanically, lol. BUT, I had a shop put the completely WRONG fluid in it. They put ATF in the T-case where you need GEAR OIL!!!! I did an entire road trip to AZ from WA. And put a total of about 5k miles on it until it started whining! It sucks, but it should have happened a lot sooner than it did! ATF is almost like putting water in it compared to the gear oil thats suppose to be in it.
Really?? Identical?? Well to start off they arent identical.. The IX is ACD obviously which doesnt mean anything for strength but the IX tcase has a Limited slip diff hence making them stronger than the VIII which has an open diff.. I have converted several ACD Tcases to Non ACD to replace VIII Tcases and guess what, THEY ARE STRONGER..
I have had zero problems with my T-Case. I am getting close to 100 launches
I dont drop the clutch and I change the fluid with OEM fluid after every track race event... the rear I do every other.
Thaxs Mikey for the info!

No surprise actually i do know as i have 12 tcases stacked along my shop wall in all different combinations.. The original poster is referring to his IX. ALL ACD Tcases come with RS diff along with any previous RS model.. SO once again the IX Transfer case is stronger then that non ACD VIII which was my initial statement just maybe not typed out 100%..

So the original poster asked if 9 cases are stronger than 8. I would say most definately not. they are the same.
I believe the lsd causes more breakage due to having more hook on the line. The weaker two spider front diff breaks less because it allows the front tires to spin more. thus acting like a fuse in the drive train.
