Evo 9 stock turbo, upgraded intake manifold and throttlebody ?????
Tried searching to no avail..Got a really good deal on an ams vsr intake mani with 75 mm t-body..But have just boltons and tune..Would i see any gains on stock turbo??I know on big turbos these are awesome..Just wondering if it would be worth the cash??Any ideas??Justin
You will see some gains, I would guess maybe about 10wtq across much of your powerband. However, there are a couple of things that you should be aware of:
1.) the AMS VSR intake does not support the stock EGR system (SOL on this one), nor does it have provisions for the stock PCV system (this can be added) ... what does this mean? Means you will get a CEL for not having the EGR hooked up. Nothing you can do to clear the CEL, either.
2.) Some 75mm TBs have a tendency to leak slightly, definitely something you want to check out before pulling the trigger.

actually the EGR CEL can be disabled by messing around with ECU periphery settings. I am not sure this can be done on all model years ECU though.
the Hypertune and DI manifolds as far as I know are the only stock ECU sensor friendly ones. Specially the DI manifold with hypertune TB combo. All the stock sensors can be used including EGR.
