HKS racing suction intake.. thoughts?

I want an intake that will give me the most power, and make it so I can hear my turbo and bov.

I want to hear from people that run this intake, and tell me what you think..

I would also like to hear from tuners who have opinions on this intake.. good or bad.

Thanks..

I had this intake on my impreza, it filters very bad, I had to change the mafsensor 3 times cause of this. Changed to a Apexi and no problems anymore. Also there was a test years ago with lots of filters, the HKS scored the lowest on filtering. It flows very well but also lets **** through the filter.

Something tells me you may not be the first person to be interested in this intake.

To be more helpful:
From what I have read from several tuners and owners is the intake has shown up to a 12whp increase on a Dynojet IF the car is tuned for it, and it does take some extra effort to tune this intake. DO NOT run this intake without a tune though, as you maybe at risk of running lean.

I have the HKS RS intake and I think it's great. It makes the car sound mean and it looks nice under the hood. Of course I had my car tuned after installing it. As far as the filtration goes, HKS recommends changing the filter every 5,000 miles. Maybe if people would actually heed their advice the filter wouldn't get such a bad rep.

How much power are you planning to make? If your going for just the sound then id suggest keeping the stock intake. To me you would be just sucking in hot air from the engine bay and possibly losing power.

I have had this intake for about three years now... No issues.. Easy fix for the filtration problems - panty hose secured over outer filter... as for heat - use a guard to separate filter from the block.. Its easy to make with sheet metal and a bit of patience and time. Everyone here has good inputs, but that intake makes mucho power with proper tune. I am still on stock MAF, ran stock viii turbo for 27K miles and blades were fine... dude its all about what you want.. GL!

I have the HKS RS Filter and I like it. Just plan on cleaning your MAF after awhile. I change it every 10k-15k.

Ive tuned cars with the hks seduction kit and cars with just the hks filter! I think they are great and increase spool and help the boost hold better up top! I had a 03 with exhaust, frontmount, cams and this intake and it made killer power with nice looks!! So i would recommend it, Plus the filter is easy to clean!! Heres a link if you just want the fliter http://lancershop.com/customer/produ...7&cat=2&page=1 but the sedution kit does help with spool!
