Exclamation HELP!!! Any suggestions????

Ok, I'm quite good with cars, but this makes me a bit nervous. I read the forum on installing a DIY ground kit. Everything went well...I did, however, undo both cable from the battery before starting.

Everything put back together, all nice and snug; no loose connections, but the engine is making a tapping sound (the sound an engine makes when it's somewhat low on oil) right at the 'valve cover'. It's not a harsh tap, but I'm quite sure it wasn't doing this before, else I'm quite sure I'd have noticed.

ANYHOW, I'm freaking out a bit, it only has 520 miles on it...

ANY SUGGESTIONS!?????

Why don't you undo the grounding kit and see if it goes away. I know it's a PITA to undo something you just put together but sometimes that's just what you have to do.

Personally I don't see how a grounding kit can do anything to your engine. Good or Bad. I installed a ground kit and the only thing I noticed was brighter headlights.

Well, I removed the grounding kit, and have been so worried since...the car still seem to make the noise, but I'm unsure if I'm just making a big deal out of nothing. When I take it to the dealer, will they know that I've removed the power from the battery? Does the ecu record such data? I want to walk in there saying, "this just started happening yesterday", rather than " I was installing a grounding kit, and...."...know what I mean?

Just say it started happening yesterday like you planed and take if from there. I don’t think the ECU will record a loss of power.

Ummm, last time I think anybody checked I don't think disconnecting your battery is grounds for denial of a warranty. They most likely will not even be able to tell. In the unlikely case that they could, well, you disconnected the battery to reset the ECU because you heard it would give you better performance(have heard this but cannot vouch for it), or something like that.

If they ask about the bettery tell them you found some better gas at a brand new gas station and wanted to reset the ecu to let it re-learn. Or play dumb and tell them you reset the ecu when you heard the noise, becuase the owners manaul say to do that if you notice the car running rough.

tell them you couldn't find the fuse to reset teh turbo and that disconnecting the power was the only way to reset the high boost switch
