Getting a "tune" - what to expect?

So, my car has an intake (full Injen system) and TBE, but as far as I know it's running on stock maps. Should I get a dyno tune i.e. Reese's Motorsports? Also, what should I expect? Do I need to have a wideband O2 and all that stuff installed before I can get a tune? How does it work anyway, do I just give them the car + some money and come back later?

Sorry, I'm new to this stuff if you can't tell.

Yes, you're new, and that's ok, but please read and post in the Newbie forum first. This is 101-level stuff.

The tuner will tune your car while you're there( it takes like 2 hours.) You dont need a wideband, your tuners gonna have one. I'd say wait till you getta walbro fuel pump and a MBC before you get tuned. You'll see alil over 300 on a dynojet.

some tuners wont let you into the shop while you are being tuned. They wont even let you see the car until it is done which bothers me alot. Just go there with fuel you are planning to use most often. When my cousin went we looked for cheap 93 octane fuel ie. hess, citgo, riggins. But then he fills up regularly with Shell only. I've heard by doing this, you will car wont run bad just in case you get a bad batch of gas. Also make sure nothing is leaking and everything is maintained.

Yea. It's a big liability to have customers in the dyno area. But my tuner let me sit in the back seat while dyno tuning.

You will notice a totally different beast after you get your EVO back. There are tuners here on the boards that can flash your computer VIA e-mail, but custom hands on tunes are the best. I would HIGHLY reccomend getting a bigger FP, it's honestly just cheap insurance for your Evo. Get a Hallman Pro MBC and you're ready to rock. You WILL be super impressed with the results. TRUST ME!!!
