Vid of Definately blown T-case
Vid of Definately blown T-case
So I posted a while back about the dealership giving me the wrong fluid to put in my t-case. It was a long story, the dealer has since gone out of business, lol. Anyway, I am about to get a new tcase so I thought I would throw up a vid of what it sounds like when you get the "Death Whine". Its an OK vid, its just from my black berry, so nothing professional but you can tell that it get louder with speed and doesnt vary with rpm at all or if its in or out of gear. Anyway, here it is. You might have to turn your speakers on a lil louder.

forgot to mention its in an 06 IX RS

Thanks for the vid it does help me a bit but i am still soo stumped about the decel noise even though most everyone says it's NORMAL
I do not have the whine when the clutch is dpressed so maybe the ring/pinion are still ok.
My main thing is that it didn't start to make the decel noise until after a trip to the track and a little wheel hop.
I'm soo undecided if i should yank it out or leave it in.....

If i downshift and don't get back on the gas immediately the decel noise is there....so basically the only way to keep the noise from occuring is to cruise w/ a very light touch of the foot on the gas pedal

Mainly when cruising at a steady speed say 60mph in 4th gear and once you just relase your foot of the gas the decel noise comes on but if you step on the clutch the noise goes away.

l8r)
All the gear box fluids have been changed twice and at each time there were no significant pieces of metal/shaving just the normal amount i see on all the evos that pass through the shop.
