Misfire...Help

Well yesterday I installed some NGK BR8ES plugs on MY06 EVO. The car has a Buschur TBE, O2 housing and intake.

After installing the plugs, the car was misfiring badly when I went 70-100% throttle. I originally put the plugs in at .28 gap, and then I regapped to .24, but it still was misfiring.

So I put the stockers back in, and guess what...still misfiring. Any ideas what it might be?

I was thinking plug wires, but is there a way to test them?

Any help is appreciated.

-Matt

you might have installed the wires incorrectly. to test them, get an ohmmeter and put one lead on each end. it should show resistance. if the wire is bad, it will show open. good luck.

You may have the wires on wrong but the BR8es's should NEVER be installed in an EVO9, that is the wrong spark plug for the car. It will NOT work.

Well I found that out the hard way. I'm gonna pick up some new plug wires tomorrow.

Just to clarify, I need part # 3 on the link, correct?

Read this thread on which plugs to use on the ix

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ght=evo9+plugs

Put new ones in first before you check anything else.
