If thats true then i would lean towards the FP mani for sure. Thing is im buying an FP white and would like to just purchase all i have to from FP rather than shopping around but i need to know that this thing is worth it over stock.

I don't have expert knowledge of fluid dynamics but I would say the stock ported manifold would get better turbo response. Think of having 1 foot tube and 2 foot tubes and routing water through them. Which would reach it's destination faster?
In this case it would be gas reaching the turbo.

I'm going to disagree with that thinking. I think getting a manifold for stock evo 8 and 9's it's not going to make a big enough difference to justify spending 450+ on a manifold. But for big stock bolt on turbo's such as the FP Green and Red i would think you be able to benefit from a manifold. Remember those 2 turbos in particular really wake up past 25+psi. I think i would want to have a manifold with larger, smoother, and equal lenth runners. It's simple take BR HTA 35r kit with cast manifold or tubular manifold. They will both put out the same power but the tubular mani will make lets say 500whp with less boost then the cast manifold kit

I don't see on their site where they say it is "their" header. The piq has their watermark on it and that is it.

IMHO FR Manifold is not worth it. Neither are larger injectors or a huge intercooler on the stock turbo... I run my car on pump gas and did not see much of an improvement from those parts. the car does run very consistent now in summer though.

Key words there are "pump gas." You're not getting close to its potential on pump gas. Running big boost on the stocker makes these mods very useful.

im also looking into getting the FP manifold. It looks really nice and seems quality to me. Id also like to hear input from owners using it already. Btw, did you guys notice it looks exactly like the HKS 1200usd manifold for the stock turbo? its a rare item. I've seen it on one of the Evom vendors web pages.

INtercoolers help plenty on stock turbos with the limited octane gas we have here in Cali

might be right. in any case though I run 1.65bar target on pump throughout the rev range and I still believe that manifold, injectors and intercooler should be the last things on your mod list for a stock turbo. I got these parts for both safety on the stock turbo and trying to get the car ready for a green but I got a cold feet later with playing around with it. ask someone else though and they might say they gained 10hp from manifold - that is how I decided to buy one

Just to add my 2 cents worth - I got the FP 02 housing along with the green and did consider this manifold. Its very close to gt-spec and I did some searching and found that gt-spec manifold's sorta "sucked" and lost hp and tq, I guess.

Regarding the 02 housing, its is much bigger than the megan one, so much so that I had to a smaller stud (8mm stud that FP had to send me) on one side and fanangle the nut on before tightening. Also, the megan had seperated sections for WGA and exhaust sections, but this has more of a partial wall with a sharp edge. It does look similar to titek (pics I have seen here)

Manifold wise, I went with an full-race gen1 pro-stock HPC coated manifold
