breakin for new pads and BOV questions
breakin for new pads and BOV questions
I need some expert advice.
1)What is the proper break-in technique for new brake pads?
2) My new Forge recirculating valve is loud. I thought only BOV's made noise. I do have a Buschur intake as well which made the stock one a little louder but the forge is very loud. I checked all the connections to make sure they were tight.
Is this normal?
One other thing, the stock vacuum line is not long enough because the Forge vacuum is not at a 90 degree angle.
Thanks for the help.

One more question...
Without a boost gage how will I know if there is surge caused by the new valve?
Will the car not slow down for a second when I let off the gas?

Well the problem that occurs by installing a BOV on a MAF-equipped car is not technically surge but I can tell you a way to test if your BOV is causing a problem.
Get onto a road of decent speed; 55 mph or so. Roll into the throttle until you are making a little boost and then slowly roll back off. If you get it just right, that will be the best test (most sensitive) while driving to see if it will cause a problem. If you do that test and you get a slight hiccup. If your BOV is too set too tight, it can cause a problem wherein it doesn't open fast enough. Too loose, the MAF sensor runs rich and you bog; too tight and it won't open and it will stall the compressor and you buck/shudder.
