Tranz Clutch line Restricter???
Tranz Clutch line Restricter???
was looking around and did a search but cannot find my answer.
Im doing my Gf's synchro's so i figured i'd do a clutch and the braided line all in one shot amongst other things, but over at Evo Moto's website, i read a tech article that stated to remove the clutch line re stricter so that the clutch can engage and disengage with full maximum force. My question is should i remove it or not. My only concern was that the re stricter there so that the clutch doesn't engage hard n ruin the tranny so it allows a minimal slippage to occur. I believe its due for the awd cars so they dont blow the tranz or axles when engaging gears in high rpms!
So is it or is it not worth removing the re stricter???

Definately worth it! Much more positive feel and less inconsistencies when launching. Have you ever felt like the clutch is engaging at different spots in the clutch pedal travel? some of that is caused by the slowing of the fluid through the restrictor. If you ever drag race/ launch your car you will really appreciate it being removed. Just don't drive it like a ricer in a Honda and your tranny will be fine. Remember in an AWD car something has to give and clutches are cheaper than tranny's, T-cases and axles!

never felt that, just the slight slip when engaging at high rpm's with out doubling it. i would figure that with no restriction yes engaging is like slamming it hard...so i was just thinking may cause damage not needed ya know.?
