Difference between evo 8 and evo 9 gearing

Does anyone have the gearing information for the 8 and 9. No so much the ratios but stock mph max in each gear. Is the 8 that much higher in fourth since a lot of drag racers switch them out. Also does the buschur and ams drag car have a fifth gear or are they both geared to max out 170+ in fourth.

bro, im not sure, but i think AMS and Buschur both use a "DOGBOX" or dogbox style tranny, no syncros, horrible for street driving. im pretty sure its clutchless.

i read about them in some import mag it said something about the gears like
"think pitbull teath rather than chiuaua teeth"

I'm pretty positive the 4th gear on the 8 is longer. I just don't know how big a difference they are mph wise. Bump for gear ratios and mph differences

IIRC, neither Buschur, nor AMS has gone to a dogbox yet. Both are using non-stock final drive ratios, though.

Which final drive is Buschur using to get that 155mph trap?

Not sure. AFAIK, only the 3.84 and 4.11 final drives are available for our Evos, though. It's also not uncommon to see people mix and match between the various tranny gears (except for the MR 4th and 5th gears) in an attempt to fine tune the gearing.

Personally I'd really like to see something close to a .096 4th gear to be made available.
