But clearly states in their warranty that bolt-ons will void the warranty. In the link you provided is says

"Under the Magnuson-Moss Act, aftermarket equipment which improves performance does not void a vehicle manufacturer’s original warranty, unless the warranty clearly and conspicuously states that aftermarket equipment voids the warranty."

A. Don't hijack this thread
B. Shep doesn't rebuild 6spds, stick with a 5spd

To the OP:

Call up Shep. Explain what you want to do with your car in regards to the track...and he will make a recommendation. He's a cool guy to talk to.

I looked around and asked a lot about getting a 6 speed rebuild but everyone says that if u race your car it will brake.. it is not as good as the 5 speed.. so i ended up getting the shep 5 speed with of the options available... i will keep you posted on what happens...

i waited two weeks to get my warranty voided.. and i knew it would happen but i was hoping for the impossible... i took the car to mitsu dealer in york pa.. off of rt 30. Guys are nice but i guess it looked bad... from what i understand the shift fork was broken as well... i am sure it did not brake on me cos i drove the car for about a mile cos that happens next to my house.. and car had 1,2,5,6 gear.
I have no time to argue with the dealership. summer is almost done and i already missed two DEs and i am not going to wait a month to get it fixed... new tranny is on the way and so is the exedy twin and a set of ohlins... i will keep you posted.

from what i know i think the 6 speed is perfect for the street but when it come down to track event and heat thats when trouble starts happening plus it has something to do with the way we drive.. i may be a bit agrassive and that may have been a factor... i had my fluids changed three time for 30k and it still happended...

To answer your question i think it will be fine for the street. i hear people add a cooler on the 6 speed so it cools better but that another 700-800 and i dont know if it will make a difference...

yeah cause like i said i dont track, drag, none of that, im 18, i no how to drive, (doesnt mean i go hauling *** everywhere) i learmed my lesson in my ranger, i just dont want to spend money on a 6 speed and spend money on having it shipped and rebuilt at TRE for it to be weaker than my 5 speed. does anyone no if the 6 speed rebuilt from TRE is stonger than the stock 5.(also with an ACT or exedy clutch and flywheel) thanks

I did not know u had a 5 speed..... If i were u i would stick with it... spend your money on something else. 5 speed is stronger than the 6 even if u rebuild the 6 speed.. dont waste your money.

ok thanks, i was just wondering, cause i DD my car to Electician school 2 time a week and to go out in stuff, and my school is like 20 to 30 miles away. and its mostly freeway so i was think a few rpms lower than the 5 speed would be better for the motor, but i was told 3500 rpms shouldnt hurt it on the freeway at 80
