exhaust leak

So saturday night i was driving home from my friends house and i start to hear this slight ticking noise. I go to drive it the next morning and its even worse i thought i might have a boost leak. I tighten the ic pipes on the ic and that doesn't fix it. I then come to find out the gasket between the header and turbo is blown out on the passenger side. Now my question is what could have possibly caused this all the nuts and bolts were tight? Could it have been because my o2 housing doesn't have a support backet ( which i am currently getting welded on)? Any input would be great

Could've been an old gasket, did you replace it and torque the bolts properly when you installed the header and o2 housing? The factory specs:

It may have been nothing that caused it, gasket could have just been bad. I remember when I put the megan manifold on TTP told me not to use the megan gasket. Try getting a Mitsu gasket and replacing it

with the above torque specs, i would recommend checking that all of the bolts are tight... if they are, take them off, and check the gasket... if you have soapy water, and a cooler engine, you can find it pretty fast... a friend of mine's gasket between the exhaust manifold and turbo was blown. he high-temp rtv/ jv welded it... a temp fix, but not recommended

+1

The Megan gaskets are crap. The stock gasket between the manifold and turbo is nice and thick. I used to run a copper exhaust manifold gasket and it crapped out so I switched back to stock. Running great ever since.
