The clutch is the problem.
If you take the clutch off, you will find a 20mm washer. Take the washer out & replace it with a 10mm washer. Put the clutch back on & wala. This will buy you sometime before you will need to replace the clutch & the coil.
It will take you about 15 mins to do. Its pretty easy.
Good luck!

try recharging the system. A friend of mine had this same problem and he just bought one of those recharging cans at autozone and it fixed the problem.

Not sure what year your car is, but if you have to recharge and it's a newer car you're probably going to find a leak somewhere.

^^ agreed.

Typically newer cars don't require recharging for quite sometime but you did mention it comes on and off so it may be something else. I would have it checked out by the dealer or a shop that specializes in AC.

Unless you have a leak you should not have to re-charge the system.
Sorry, I do not have pictures. Im sure if you were to go to a good shop they would be able to help you out. Tell them you need to change the shim
