Is this a stock Evo 8 cat?


Some locals told me it was, but it seems wierd for Mitsu to have such nice flanges on a stock cat!

if it has a bung on the top = IX

no bung = VIII

O2 sensor on a IX is in the cat, VIII is on the catback.

**in general that is a mitsu cat**

It has like 1/2" 2 bolt flanges stock. Normally you see a) the cat molded in to the downpipe, or b) thin flanges that bend or warp if you ever loosen them up and use them again.

BTW, thanks for the help, I now know that I have a ??? downpipe, stock cat, and 3" stainless RMR cat back
