right? I know the Audi/Vdub crew doesnt have this problem either... its gotta be a real annoying thing to have happen though after you spend so much money on a built motor setup

You haven't listened close enough! I've seen a handful of B- series Hondas with crankwalk. Twin & Triple disc clutches will do that to the thrust washers.
Hell, even my old 4Runner V6 wasted a set of thrust washers! And that was an automatic.

It can happen to any engine, at any time, for any reason!

Well that's a relief, because Honda's being the #1 cars broke down cluttering the shoulders of highways the don't need something else to add to the list of **** that can go wrong.

well honda's and nissan's are not mitsubishi's. no surprise there! Crank walk is a big issue for the earlier eclipse's and similar models. Unusual in Evo's

Was the clutch converted to the "push style" that they now offer?

The reason you see them the most is because thats what a majority of america is driving......

I've owned more 200,000+ mile hondas than I have fingers.........

I cant say that for any other car manufacturers...and I've owned alot of cars

My step fathers parents each have Mercedes that has 200k+ and 250K on them.

And just because there is on thread about an Evo having crankwalk doesn't mean its a problem. How many Evos on the road now with no issue how many with?

Only problem about the internet is one thread creates wide spread chaos.

Notice I didnt say that achieving 200k+ miles on any other platform is not possible......just take a step back and consider how many mercedes are on the road, compared to how many hondas. Naturally you're going to see more broken down hondas

I'm not here to create widespread panic. Unfortunately, that is a bi-product of the internet......too many people believe what they read, and repeat it over and over again.

This thread is merely here to introduce a problem and gather facts on it

How I understand what your saying, but someone praising their Honda because they've never experiences crankwalk is a lil funny considering Honda's have their problems like any other engine. Also my 1G TSi never had an issue and that car had 150k easy on the block and gone thru 2 heads and 1 transmission (You could say 2 trannys but I scraped the car after the second tranny's housing cracked.

I rad an article a while back that said the reason the 2Gs are prone to it is because a batch of the cranks were outta spec I believe, or it might have been the bearings. I couldn't say for sure although it does sound plausible.
