hta35, cast vs tubular??

Hey all,

Just wondering how much power diff. is there between cast and tubular exst manifold used for the hta35.

I recall a bunch of guys going 500whp on DB mustang dyno on pump using the hta35, i wonder if this is achievable with the cast mani kit... wonder how much the cast kit would lower the spool too...

any input on the differences in characteristics of the two kit is highly appreciated.

David Buschur would be the guy to ask but I thought I read that the cast spooled slightly sooner and the tubular made slightly more power. I don't think the cast mani would keep you away from 500awhp on pump at all, the difference was not extreme by any means if I remember correctly.

I would take a CAST anyday for a daily driver, and not because of the manifold cracking, but because tubular manifolds make the car sound raspy, loud, and almost honda-esque

there's definitely a nasty spot at 3500-4000 click vid in my sig...one of my customer replaced the test pipe with a BR bullet muffler and he said that went away.

well i personally wouldn't mind a bit of sound eagerness , but the cast kit does cost 1000 less and has better spool, so for a street driven car i think it would be the better choice for me if there's not a considerable power sacrifice up top.

Just noticed that most people go for the tubular kit, so i was wondering whether there were any obvious reasons...

for me I wanted every last hp possible to get down the 1/4 faster and at the time I made the purchase there wasn't much data. I just didn't want to have regrets later and wish I got the header.

I've got other videos on my forum of my evo boiling the tires through first gear...but the one in my sig was on street tires without the 2-step so I rolled out.

you might even find one of a 980rwhp turbo mustang on race gas and nitrous with slicks getting educated in the ways of AWD

I hate to say this I have the same thing only part throttle in that window. I have the Greddy Racing Ti on the car and it is stupid loud with the header, no cat, no resonators to a tiny muffler with big tip. I can duplicate the nosie if i try but rarely ever hit it but accident.

Mellon, I hv no doubt that your evo or any other evo has the capability of a great launch, no matter what turbo you use (unless you go 45 maybe??). I was more trying to think of it as a daily driven road going car, how would it drive through bends etc... I have to say since we don't have anyone to enforce the law around here, and since 90% of our roads are mountain roads, we pretty much use our evo as a road going rally car...

Guys, plz keep the info coming abt tubular vs cast manifolds
