Blown motor? I remember when my mustangs motor went it was a loud pop lol! Except I had a very very large puddle of oil under my car after that..

he didn't want to try it... he just heard a pop and black smoke came into the cabin and from the hood and he pulled over right away and shut off the car.

I would def take a look at the turbo... even though it was the block that let go. You get metal in the turbo. Also chances are the valves are bent in the head. Once the rod exited the motor .. the piston if on the upstroke .. keeps going and hits the head. ( resulting in bent valves )
