He's not the 1st to try it. The eBay POS IC has been used by many, tested by some, proven to suck by all . . .

It cools no better than the stocker but weighs twice as much. . .

Thats funny, are these facts or rumors. As I stated before I had an ebay core along with many people in my area. I made 425whp on my GST on a ebay core. That was at 20psi daily. I have run it at even higher psi with no "welds cracking". My buddy had a "name brand" and his weld split at 26psi. I had to weld it back up for him. So unless you have 1st hand experience with these intercoolers, then dont post because your not helping the OP.

I touch on your points one by one.

They are facts. This EXACT intercooler has been tested by multiple people and has never been shown to match the AMS IC it is copying, not to do anything better than the stocker.

Who cares about some IC core for a DSM. We are talking about this EXACT unit.

All companies have a failure now and then. We are not saying to not buy this because it will fail. We are saying to not buy it because it is a waste of money AND you would be supporting the growth of a rip-off company. . .

Why don't you follow your own advice in your last sentance. Do YOU have first hand experience with this particular unit??

Sounds like a lot of people speaking about something they have no personal experience with. I AM RUNNING THIS INTERCOOLER!! Have been for over a year and a half now. Have had absolutely no problems with it at all. Putting it on was easy. Bolted right up to the stock mount locations. I did notice a little gain on the dyno with peak torque being a little earlier (400rpm) and slightly more WHP (9WHP with just this mod). I put it on with the intent of it being a stop gap until I could afford to buy a "good one" from Buschur or AMS but after putting it on and running it for a while I spent the money I would have spent on the "high end" intercoolers on something else. (CAMS!!!!) For those of you who are concerned about quality, I am sure there have been some bad units out there! Same as with almost every company that manufactures anything, sometimes a bad one comes off the assembly line. Anyhow I'm stepping down off my soap box now and I invite anyone who has personal knowledge (ie YOU have used this part) to continue an adult conversation comparing the pros and cons. Thanks for reading.

Josh

Making good power on an intercooler is not enough to prove that the intercooler itself is worth anything, unless you have hard data showing its quantifiable performance in terms of heat reduction and minimal pressure drop. It's also not just as simple as wether it cools or not, but how well, and for how long, under how hard of conditions.

This is the ebay ams copy. I've been using it for the past 20,000 miles with 0 problems and 0 knock. I run 23-25 psi on the stock 2003 turbo (stock 9.8 hotside)with 93 octane gas in hot weather, and rarely get any knock. I've also made 350whp with this intercooler. If you ask me it was a definite improvement over the stocker, however the name brand cores out there probably perform better.
