If you have a Synchronic BOV try this
In third or fourth with a quick build of boost all would be fine. The only reason I'm seeing this condition during fifth most of the time is because this is my tallest gear therefor mostly used on highway when boost builds slightly and slowly when gradually passing or adjusting my speed.
I currently do not have port c connected. After driving with port b off i notice when i put the clutch in it tends to want to die almost. So i hooked b back up and now its fine. Im going to try port c and port a only and see what happens.
Yes, which may be more exaggerated by my rather lax driving style compared to most evo owners. I'm like a grandpa on the highway, can't have it set to kill all the time
I am running a highly modified ix turbo that spools up faster than stock. Similar conditions were seen with the stock turbo and jdm ix diverter valve and this turbo with the ix valve. Boost holds more steady with the Synchronic, just need to resolve this issue as I can't imagine anything that feels like this is good for the turbo.

So, I've been getting more feedback from more users with fast spooling setups. Last one was a 30R in a 4G63 with pretty fast spoolup. The #3 configuration worked best for him.
I did my own testing on the dyno with a late spooling 4G63 and have come to the conclusion that #3 only works for fast spooling cars. Late spoolers really need to run both ports on the back to vacuum.
Anybody here with a later spooling turbo with results different from mine with #3?

From: Still in NC!! Loving retired life!!
I just rebuilt my motor but stuck with the stock VIII turbo for now. My setup spools extremely early (like 2200 rpm!). Highway driving with configuration #1 was an extreme effort in throttle modulation from part throttle acceleration to part throttle cruise but, once I contacted you and changed to configuration #3 all is well! This unit is a very nice piece of work and looks really good under the hood of my car! Thanks again for you fast response to my question and the incredible product!

Josh- I'm glad it worked out.
We get quite a few critics for having the 2 ports on the back. But they allow us to have a BOV that will perform like 3 totally different units depending on the setup and application.

I just bought one of these gadgets, so we'll see how well it works.
I strongly suggest taking the feedback you've gathered to date, and developing a set of suggested settings for users that you should furnish both in print with the unit, and on your website.
Better for you, better for us.

I tried setup number 3 and I got or sound like compressor surge at very low boost. Or when I would let off the gas it would sound like that. I have all the ports in used up. So theres a (T) from port B to Port A and then going to the manifold. Then I have a line from the wastegate to my Hallman and again another (T) for port C. Runs good until I let off the gas at low boost and it starts to jerk the car pretty bad. I can not hold a line if I tried. What other options should I try? Please help! Should I have port C hooked up to a different source?
So, still stock turbo? Spools quickly, or modded turbine housing/wheel?
And, how do you have it setup when it sounds surgey at low boost? #3, or #1?
If you've tried #3 and #1 and neither work, you might have to try running with the pre-load spring removed completely.

I have a stock Evo 9 turbo on it now. It surges all the time when I slowly press the gas and slightly let off. It happens in 2nd-6th gears. Its driving me crazy. How do I take out the preload spring? Is port C hooked up right? Its coming off the wastegate line. And its Tee'd with my boost controller.
Hi Peter,
It's Adam Hennessy from R247. I just got you message here in regards to this thread and dropped in. What exactly are you looking for? I've had the fun pleasure of doing alot of R&D with your Syncronic and it's ports on both single and twin scroll( 16g and 3076R setups respectfully). Also in conjunction with the previous "boost bleed" setup I was running using the valve as a "wastegate" to control the boost pressure and eliminate the 16g surge issue during throttle modulation.

I've tried almost all combos and still get flutter and the jerkiness. All with Port C to boost source. T'ed off between turbo nipple and EBC. Re-Circulating the BOV.
If i plug port A & B to vacuum, low boost blows off smooth with no flutter, but jerks at high boost, and flutters n jerks at constant throttle at high boost. Same thing happens with or without the preload spring and adjustment screw all the way out.
Plugging port A to vacuum and port B VTA, results in flutter at low boost. Jerkiness at high boost.
Plugging port B to vacuum and port A VTA, minimal flutter at low boost, blows off smooth when i shift gears, but jerks if i let off the throttle at high boost while remaining in the gear.
I'm also having problems of my EGR hose keeps blowing off the nipple. It never happened before installing the BOV.
Still trying to get it to run smoothly at high boost and part/constant throttle. Should i get the boost source from the turbo nipple or the wastegate(internal) nipple? Also, any other configurations I can try?
Mods : stock 9 turbo, stock intake pipe with cone filter, turbo back exhaust, 272 i/e cams, hks evc 6.
