Al what sort of times do you reckon this turbo will propel you to?

Think you can run Evo-Red PR times on this sucker?

I am really no longer in competition with anyone and dont car how fast it runs

For example, recently I re-installed the interior just becuase I felt it makes more sense to have it as a real car with wind up glass windows and as a real car that can ber driven on the road

I really just enjoy working on the car and having it run "right"

Taking a ride today and nailing it in 2nd gear with slicks and feeling all 4 wheels light up and the car slide was a great feeling and I know I am on the right track with this set up

Given my 12 - 14 hour work days tuning customer cars and being that I am a one man team there is a limit on how much time I can invest in this project, I am having fun just taking it one step at a time

We'll see what happens when it gets to the track

Al

George appears to be a kick butt driver, that car is going 9's if he can shift it like he did in the video. Very nice.
Thank you master, I appreciate all of your help and assitsance.

The road to Ohio is a long 500 miles - we'll see if the Bad Bish II makes it down that long ride and to the race! George can sure drive fast but he does not get to the track. I booked him a room so we'll see if he comes.

Glad to hear you'll be at the SO!
Its really impossible to draw any comparision as it looks as if all my work with the other two heads was with a defective valve spring and floating valves

This would explain the bizzare popping at Pinks All Out - not bad to run 146 at 3190 lbs with a floating valve

Based upon my past experience a Buschur Head with porting and valves is about 12 - 15% better air flow at 35 psi

I base this on injector on time needed to achieve a desired a/f target which is a good way to measure air flow

is that a special 37R, HTA or other? I have the HTA 35R .63 and wish I had the .82 now since I'm mostly into drag racing. Been thinking about going bigger turbo instead.
The turbo itself is a custom offering which you can purchase from either myself or Buschur Racing. For obvious reasons I am not disclosing the specifics. All I can say is that I am onto a really nice combination.

When I data logged a 2 - 3 shift the boost goes from 41 drops to 37 and right back to 41

Actually, Al has been running a head that was ported by someone else for a long time. When he was having trouble with that I sent him the head that I took off my RS to help him out, I re-used his springs from his hold head in it. When he got the head from my car he had the same problems and found a pin hole in it that was leaking water (we are not sure why that happened but the reference he made to the high EGT's/valve float are suspect as his other head did the same thing). I then sent him a head we had here ready to be ported, we just installed our race valves in it and good springs.

He does not have back to back numbers from the "stock" head to one of our race ported heads.
This is 100% accurate

Its a shame that the dreaded Murphy's Law had to bite me in the *** and injure that wonderful Stage III head you provided me. Based upon my data logs and injector on time the Buschur Ported head was flowing between 12 - 15% more air flow than the current head.

On a side note, this down time allowed me a chance to inspect the bottom end of the Buschur Short block which looks almost totally brand new even after dozens of dyno pulls and my ill fated Pinks All Out misadvanture

I am using twin Tial 44 gates (twin scroll) with a single scroll V band turbine housing

They both have the stiffest Tial double blue springs

I am using a Buschur Racing billet MBC with no boost to the top ports - the side port gets boost directly off the turbo

This set up seems to be controlling and holding boost well

Too bad you dont get the same type of power in a T3 frame.

We are feeling that the turbo will actually do better in a T3 backhousing on a 2.0 l. Soon we will have testing on that.

al how come you went with the aluminum rod after breaking it before did the 1000+ power break them the first time when it destroyed your block. also can you tell the difference the way it revs or is it really not that noticable.

Since I broke crower steel rods in half and alum rods in half - I can break them all its a matter of revs

This si why I lowered the power band by going with a smaller turbo to lower the revs on the engine to stay in the power band

This should give us more rod life

Buschur is the one who suggested the alum rods I think they are intended to adsorb some of any knock that may occur
