DSM Shootout Prep - 800 whp Gt37

I have been toiling and slaving away to get our Evos ready for the DSM Shootout this weekend - my 6th. A lot of little problems arose in the last two weeks. Apparently, one or more of my valve springs became somewhat weak for some reason and was floating open at high rpms. This condition resulted in a small crack occuring in my exhaust port.

6 days from the big show and stuck with a cracked head was not a very good place to be.

Thanks to the kind assistance of Buschur Racing I was able to secure a bone stock head to use so I could make the shootout. Thanks to Buschur as there was no other way I could get a head on such short notice.

Today I thrashed for 8 hours to get the head back on the car and button up everything and get it back on the dyno for some last minute tuning and testing.

I was so happy to hear the sound of that first pull and see that my power is right up near 800 whp - 794 corrected

The stock head may be holding me back slightly up top but the TQ was wonderful - 610 !

I am so happy to see my whip ready to head back out to Ohio for the Shootout and share a wondeful day at the track with so many other Evo Fans.

Hard work, sweat, blood and tears and the fuel to get a racer to the race, making the show is often half the battle when you work on a shoe string budet.

This is my car on Q16 at 41 psi of boost

Here is a interesting comparision between the HTS GT35 R Bad Bish II on our dyno at 38 psi of boost - vs my Gt37 at 41 psi of boost

Good example of how power doesn't drop off even after 9.5k rpm with turbo's this size.

I posted a video of the process of tuning in the Dyno Flash You Tube Channel

I cant link it here as it includes a 1 through 4 pull of the Bad Bish on a road- not allowed here
