Turbo XS MBC info
So I got my High Perfomance turbo xs MBC today and have a few questions. I know how to install it, I was wondering if there are any adverse effects from using the intake manifold as the pressure source instead of the compressor side of the turbine? I know this is done all the time just wondering if it has any affect?
- Also I will be getting a tune in the near future just not for a few weeks, how do I set up the boost controller so that I'm still boosting at a safe stock level until tuned?
- After installing covers over the nipples on the stock boost solenoid, will this cause any CEL's?
- I see it has an adjustable bleed mechanism on the boost controller, how is this used and how is it adjusted?

I got it yesterday and was reading how to set it up, I just figured you turned the top screw to increase/decrease pressure, not the case, and just looking to see who has done this.
pretty simple.. i just had a big issue with my MBC and finally got it fixed..
Now about how to use it, turn it all the way out (anti-clockwise), this will bring the boost all the way down. This is just a safety measure.
Once you have connected the MBC, do a pull in 3rd gear till the redline. If you see boost going over 25 PSI.. try checking all the hoses. (specially the one at the WGA) If its boosing to about 10 or 11 PSI, try turning the MBC clockwise gradually and try to see how much boost u hit.. Ive kept my car at 19 PSI just to be safe as i have no tune yet.
THINGS YOU SHOULD NOT FORGET:
If you are using the Intake manifold as the pressure source, you will have to use a 'Tee' and route it to the MBC and the BOV.
Make sure you Cap the Compressor Housing port. Use zip ties..
Make sure your hose connected to the WGA has been zip tied coz this is very important.
See the pics below and im sure you will be good..

Best of Luck!

Thanks for the info, what I am really wondering is about the two different knobs on the HP Turbo XS MBC, one is for "coarse" adjustments and the big knob on top is for minor adjustments. Just want to make sure everything is cool unti I tune.
