Installed MBC, slight problem
Installed MBC, slight problem
Hey all,
Wow, what a weekend. ~3000 miles so I changed my oil with Mobil 1 10w30 and oem filter, changed tranny fluid with Redline MT90 and changed center diff with NEO RHD. Still need to do the rear diff. Car shifts great and decel noise seems tamed slightly.
Anyway, I also decided to tackle my Hallman MBC. Well I got stumped removing airbox, so I decided to tackle it from below. When I was removing one of the vac hoses from the FBC, I snapped off one of the nipples by mistake!
Now I HAD to install the MBC, without screwing anything else up. Luckilly, I got the MBC installed, and tuned it to 19 psi. Car runs great. I kept the FBC plugged in, but removed the vac hoses. No check engine light. I guess I can just buy another solenoid? I taped off the two nipples, which is kludgy. Car seems to run well, but I would definitely have warranty problems...
Any ideas? Where can I buy an FBC?
Thanks,
FB

here you go, only problem is it is going to take a while to get, the only stock they have is in japan, which takes about 30 days right now due to quarantine and being that its in japan. MN143213 on mitsubishiparts.net

Sorry, I figured Mitsu, I was a little frazzled and meant to ask if people had part numbers or places online to order or whatever. I was pretty nervous during the install that I would break some other important piece that wasn't being replaced, then I would be in real trouble, heh. As it is, I hope nothing comes up where I have to go to the dealer until I have the capability to revert to stock. =)
Take care,

sweet, on that site it's only $31. I was worried it would be some ridiculous amount, heh.
There is no picture, I guess it must be the whole solenoid, including both nipples and whatnot? Thanks so much for the info.

yeah, its just a duty cycle solenoid, i believe it is identical to the solenoid that mistu uses for the egr on the montero and eclipse, or something like that. But yes that is what you will need to get back to stock boost.
