got my evo red today!

Well, I had a present sitting on my doorstep today (and im kinda surprized they didnt require a signature for it). Although I was definately a evo white hater, Roberts very impressive numbers for "no severe mods" and texas summer heat were so good that I had to try one.

Going to try to throw it on sunday, but I wont have track results till next friday. Going to be interesting to see what it does on a joe blow car that has average #s instead of freakishly fast for the mod #s.

Turbine wheel looks a hell of alot bigger than the stocker!

Only thing im curious about though is should i leave the FP 18psi WGA on it, or swap my Forge WGA over from the IX turbo I have now?

BTW, I'll have a IX stocker with either a forge wga or a fp 18psi actuator for sale soon.

Pic of turbine for comparison

I'll be using plain old amaco 93, and ive got some denso 720s on the way. I'll run it with and without meth.

However, the results might be somewhat skewed as I will be installing my buschur fmic at the same time, though I am kind of tempted to just try the turbo with no other changes.

Thanks mellon.. im sure itll be a different ride than my old 3s with mismatched turbos

Congrats on your purchase. As far as the WG go, stick with FP wg. With 4 full turn of preload I was able to hold a steady 24 psi on the green and stock evo9 turbos. With the Forge wg, no matter what preload and setting, I can't keep the boost stable at all. It's just my own observation. Good luck with your.

Look, I think that the 720's are probably way dinky nozzles for the Red. They are just marginally sufficient for the Green at 25 PSI(95% IDC) on a stock longblock with HKS 272's on pumpgas, according to Razorlab.

So, if they are marginal on the Green which flows 49 lbs./min., how can they supply enough fuel for the Red which flows close to 60 lbs./min.? So, why are so many Red users opting for the Densos?

The Densos are advertised as 720's but many feel that they flow more like a 680. I wouldn't use anything less than an 850cc injector on pump gas with the Red. But, that's just me.
