Works O2 or Titek O2 housing?

Gathering parts in preparation for a red turbo.

I am torn between 2 O2 housing. Which one is better?

I am leaning towards Works due to it's cast material, larger outlet to downpipe but worried about a single inlet vs titeks divided one.

Questions
1. Is it true that a single inlet in Works O2 may cause a boost spike? See pix link

http://images.turbomagazine.com/imag...o2_housing.jpg

2. Average power gain?

3. Fitment issues when match w/ other downpipe(I got Cobb) besides works dp?

Feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you for your suggession. Invidia O2 housing is large but have issues when installing O2 sensor. Evo O2 dump have good reviews but have pending result in my local thread http://www.norcalevo.net/forum/index...c,30365.0.html.

Titek I heard is good and better price l but I would like to know if Works O2 housing is better (forget about cost) as far as power gains and fitment.

Let me hear it from members w/ Works O2 housing.

I've had the Works 02 housing on my car for over 3 years (yes, I've had it since before it came out). It is the only housing with a true 3" outlet, plus it uses the factory brace that secures it to the block. It is made from cast iron, and the 02 bung isn't in a weird location like the Invidia unit.

You're best running it with the Works downpipe.

Unlike SS 02 housings, I never have to worry if my Works unit is cracked.

I also have never experienced boost spikes with this unit. And one more thing, Robert Young from FP runs the Works 02 housing.

So, take all that for what it's worth.

I LOVE my 02 dump housing. I think I was the 10th customer in the nation. 1st in cali (I believe) and couldn't be more happier. Glad I went on that route. Next up: FP RED.

Boost spikes yikes on works O2 housing? Fact or fiction?

Any member or reference experience? Please link.

If I don't hear from anybody then I am almost decided.

Erik thanks for the input. I am patiently waiting for your 100 cell cat to go on discounted sale If it ever happens

I have not heard of a Works O2 spiking ever, it's heresay unless you personally witnessed it. Now, some Megan's have a reputation for this but the Titek does not.

I think the OP is interested in the Titek & Works, no doubt he has a reason, maybe noise emmissions. He also has a Cobb system known for their low deep sound & legal db's.

Good point by Eric, the FP car runs a Works dump & front pipe, he's the man behind the Red you're after. You have the brace as Eric said, the heat shields fit back on, the O2 sensor mounts in the stock location & it's designed to use the stock spring bolts to allow separate engine movement. No other O2 out there is designed like this to mimic the oem O2 housing.

With your set up ie the FP Red (stock framed turbo), this will keep in the oem look theme you have. Power wise, who knows....people don't usually just fit an O2 to see the improvements alone, it's part of the whole exhaust system. Also it will differ with different combinations, however; it will produce more as you add power producing products to your evo. I would look at maybe using the Work's front pipe as well, as they are designed to be used together.

Your Cobb front pipe will sell just fine. It is a nice piece, full mandrel bent & 3in. I also have a Cobb catback & love it, I'll be using a 100 cell cat from Eric^^ shortly to get the best flow possible for my Evo.

Just some food for thought, my opinions only. Hope they help out in some small way.

Two good choices you have there, money aside. Either will do you justice, they just have different approaches for the same goal.

Cheers Steve
