If you have a 2k3 Evo 8 and switching to a EVO IX turbo, you would see about 20WHP gain from your current setup.

pump gas: 10whp, 15-20whp on higher boost.

The difference is easy to see:

This has been discussed countless times. Please use the newbie forum if you're not going to at least try to search. They will take it easy on you in there maybe, but the rules require you to search...especially when it's such a common knowledge subject that has been discussed to death.

I personally have created a thread where I provided before-and-after dyno results, which you could easily have found. I gained 24whp going from an 05 VIII turbo (10.5 hotside) to a IX with no retuning or change in boost.

Did you maintain the same boost level and ignition timing before and after the swap?

Why would he, or anyone else, run the 1/4 mile untuned?

If your looking to upgrade from an evo 8 turbo get an FP green its only a few hundred more and it will make even more power then a stock IX turbo

Err, a used IX is $450-500. A Green is $1700 new and over $1200+ used. The Green is great, and I actually have one in my garage ($1000 used), but let's not skew the numbers. My IX was $450 shipped and included all the hardware I needed. The gains of 24whp at the same boost and ignition were wonderful, imo.
