Evo IX cams: Kelford 272 vs. Cosworth M2
If you go to anything like M2s or higher... I would wait another 2-3 months (since you already waited that long for the FP4s) and buy some decent springs and retainers.
I am very impressed with the S2s so far! If you are going to stay with small turbo, then go with the S1s.... no need to upgrade the valvetrain.
My car ran the M2s, S1s and S2s! S2s are winning IMHO.

I gained 28hp at 6700rpm with the cossies, tuned to 21psi on 91 octane. And this was after I had already had a tune from a month prior...

Since the 2 offer similar performance, how should we choose between them? Which one has the better quality? I'm looking to downsize from my M3s to something that can give me more midrange torque and faster spoolup.
Kelford has more experience making cams than many "manufacturers" combined. They literally have a grind for every application.
I am waitng to see what the kelford cams can do compared to the cosworth cams..They both have the same stats but what do they do on the road and dyno..A way to test this is for someone to put on first on set go to dyno and see what it does on the road then put the other set on to see what it does..But who would do that..Me of course I would not do that..I am building my motor and now i just bought valves retainers BC and i bought Kelford cams 272...I am fixing my motor 2.3 and i will tell you guys what i see from these cams...To be honest I am going to say they rock because I have not tried the other cams..And if i go and race someone with cosworth cams he cant have the same car like me..He might be a better driver might have racing fuel without me knowing it is tough to judge cams I think...Thats my 2cents...I hope this helps but when i dyno it i will post it ...

My impressions after a month:
I am less than impressed with my Forced Performance FP4R cams. They idle much rougher and made less peak whp/wtq than my friend's car with the Kelford 272's. My car did hold power better near redline though. We have nearly identical setups with the stock IX turbo. We were tuned on the same day by the same tuner on the same dyno. I've spent the past month trying to get my idle dialed in correctly when it took us less than an hour on my friends car. I think I'm finally almost there but this was still just too much effort; especially considering the lack of gains. We were both heat-soaking our stock FMIC's so I'm hoping more gains are to be had once I upgrade that. If I had to do it again I'd probably just stick with the stock cams, or if I did buy a set, it would be the Kelfords. With their idle, spool, and low throttle drivability characteristics I see no reason to go any smaller than the Kelford 272's on the IX.

S2kracka- can your friend share his dyno graph with the Kelfords? I'm interested in them myself although TTP's response makes me think they might be more than I want since I'm also on the stock turbo.
