Witch size block for hta37

I got an 88hta turbo coming and wanted to get some opinion on what size block i should run. Should i do 2.0 and rev high or stroker. I was thinking of using the 2.4 block and building that. What would be the best for this turbo?

You will want a 2.0 for the revs, or maybe a AMS 2.3RR.

I personally like 2.0 L the best

Lately I have tuned a few 2.1 and found them to be very similar to the 2.0

I personally hate 2.3 and 2.4 engines as they loose way too much power over 8,000 when a race motor really starts to take off

At the end of the day you need to review what kind of driving you are considering and then pick an engine which is compatable with your intended style of driving

E.g. and auto cross racer would prefer a stroker 2.3 to get low end tq while a drag racer is better off with a 2.0 all day.

Stroker motors only "loose too much power over 8,000" due to the head ports and intake valve sizing being engineered for the bore and stroke of a factory engine. If you put a head designed for a 100mm stroke 2.3L engine with cams that are appropriate, there will be "no loss of power". It is either this, or the turbo you have used in making this statement was simply too small, but I would assume the first applies.

If the 2.3L bottom end geometry does not allow one to rev and engine to the RPM to spool the turbo, or get enough working RPM out of it, that is a completely different story.

Personally I am a fan of the 4G63 2.3L, yes there are better combinations that will yeild an engine that will spin higher with less stress, but it is a rather simple and effective engine combination. The problem is that no one has really developed an appropriate head for this bottom end geometry. But that dosent mean there isnt one in the works on my end

you cant really compare a drag evo that weighs nothing like a street car that runs 8s to a street car not dragged out... not right if you ask me.. although that was a nice pass.
