Will it just bolt right up without any modifications or will I need to get different parts?

I plan on gettin an external 02 housing dump and FMIC kit for my Evo 8 before I get the turbo, just seems smart to me since I have just about everything else, will that turbo still work with those parts as long as they're for an Evo8/9? I can post up pictures and information on the parts I plan on getting if that'll help.

**Current mods include**
- BC 272 cams
- MBC @ 22-24psi
- 680cc injectors
- 255lph fuel pump
- Stock intake pipe w/ aftermarket air filter
- Upper IC pipe w/ 50mm Tial BOV
- AEM wideband
- SAFC2 (but I'll be getting an ECU Flash once I have all the parts on there).

Do you guys think with a 20g Evo 9 turbo, FMIC kit and an o2 housing dump I'll be able to pull 400whp on pump gas (94 octane)? If not what else would I need?

You should pull very close to 400 no problem.. Definitely do the extrenal 02 dump.. Its worth 10-20hp guaranteed!!!

Evo power mods has caught my eye and one of my buddies runs one and it sounds sick going down the road. Can't even tell it's there until he starts gettin on it lol.

I care more about the way my car looks and sounds rather than how fast it is although I wouldn't mind it to be fast as long as I can still drive it everyday affordably.

272cams, o2 dump, tial bov and a 20g turbo seem like it'd be a pretty sick sounding combination until I get bored and buy a 30-35R turbo and a 44mm Tial Wastegate lol!

I'm from Springfield, MO btw. There's like four or five of us that drive around together pretty often. I've only been beaten by one of them so far and it was a modded Evo IX (br exhaust, intake, o2 housing, AVC-R, IC piping, fuel pump, and I think injectors but I doubt it). He had a slipping clutch and only beat me by about a car but if his clutch was better he probably would've put 3-4 cars or more on me by the end of fourth gear.

 

No, because it's an extremely critical mod that you failed to mention, and the OP was asking about pump gas only.

 

This doesnt make a lot of sense considering the mods your doing and wondering if it will make 400hp.. I am not sure but i dont think a stock looking 20g will make it LOOK or SOUND different..

 

..I suppose you're right but i'm just curious lol. I am in a little competition with my friend who has an 04 Cobra (2.76 pulley, intake, and borla exhaust). He's not a whole lot faster than me right now but he's selling his house and moving back in with his mom until him and his dad get their new homes built and he'll be porting the stock blower while he's shackin up with mommy and I'm afraid it'll all be over then if he does haha. I just wanna stay close to him if possible.

well to answer ur original question, yes u do need an install kit if u put any kind of IX turbo on an VIII. it consists of a new outlet pipe and some other misc parts. u can find them from various vendors
