Ken - this floors me! Yeah, I realize the clutches should come with them from Exedy, but it does not, and never has....yes their less expensive clutch lin (Sport Series) for other cars like the WRX comes with TO bearing and alignment tool!

But Al is right - its so easy to do its almost mindless......granted, much easier with the tool, but very simple to do without it!

Ken-

THIS SUCKS! Can Exedy even source the part? Call them and overnight one to the dealership via UPS. Good luck, man!

Exedy does not make the part, but you can easily use a parts bin input shaft, or just do it by eye

Well, I just got back to the dealer, and they said that the reason their alignment tool isnt good enough is because it doesnt extend far enough to align the second plate...

The tech working on my car, supposedly ordered an alignment kit that should work on any car, but that is going to take a week, and meanwhile, they are charging me storage fees. Needless to say ............I AM PISSED.

Ive been without my car longer than Ive been with it...lol

Btw, just wanted to say thanks to Adam @ Z1 for taking the time, to listen to my clutch problems.

Hopefully everything will work out. But the tech says he cant do it by eye because of both plates, and the tool he has isnt long enough.

Noize: Whats up! Welcome to Evolutionm.net. I havent been here that long neither, but its good see a fellow SVA'er.

White Plains Mitsu? arent they the ones trying to charge a black evo 8 for $40grand?? a dealer there told me it was expensive because it had special options such as "Brembo" brakes and the blue hand break pedals etc.. also a special "Brembo Brake Cooling System"??

Update: My friend who is a mechanic (goes by the name Superz on this evolutionm) came through, and had an input shaft which was just long enough to align the twin plate. Big thanks to Gil. And if anyone needs work done to their car, he is highly recommended.

HB4: Thank you very much for the offer. Where in NY are you now?

Rollaway: Yup, thats the same dealership. They, along with a few other dealerships(Yonkers Mitsu also comes to mind) had some insane mark ups, and alot of funny BS to back it up.
