What would you do if a shop did this to your car?

Im sure it was not intentional as they worked with me very well on getting it repaired. The work they did on the body was amazing. Its just the tech guy who needs to be delt with.

That is nuts and only an idiot could let that happen at startup. Either they are lying or the guy starting it is not mentally fit to drive a car. Wouldn't you simply shut the car off if it hit the rev limiter after starting, come on!!

Man that sucks bro. When that sort of damage happens to the plug you can expect some damage to the piston and/or cylinder wall and head damage as well. You have an ugly legal battle on your hands now as they will prolly say it wasnt their fault.
Man I would go ape **** over there. Start by getting a police report.

ooh ya forgot to say, whatever you do, make sure to do it asap! The longer you wait the more chance they have of saying it wasnt their fault!

Reading this makes me want to get a "valet" mode for my Evo. I know a few that do this. It's basically setting the rev limiter to 2500rpms or so when you take it on for repair or whatever. No hell rides or launches...

Thats a good idea, but if you dont have your laptop with you, then what? It would be nice if that sort of thing could be on a switch.

I would flip out if I was you!!! Which shop did this to your car? As far as which engine to go with I have an AMS built 2.0L and it doesnt disapoint but if you have the money I would definately be checking out the 2.3RR. It just kinda depends on what you want to use the car for. Next time I would just make the trip to AMS, I don't let any shops around here touch my car. Other than myself, AMS is the only shop I trust to do work on my car.

+1

Tephra's mod is Valet switch activated. Anytime I go to a shop that I don't trust, I set my rev limit in AEM to 3000. Good luck on getting it back up and running.
