knock sensor setting SES light

Ok guys need a little help here......Why would the knock sensor be setting the SES light while sitting at a stop light at idle?
Car still seems to run GREAT!!!! After so many ignition cycles the light will go off and stay off for a couple days then I will stop at a stop light like today and the light comes on.

do you have cams and is your car an 03? more info will help. i have a 2003 with cams and i throw this code all the time. there is a cell fix programed in a later rom but that doesnt always completely work either. if you search the p0300 code on this forum you will find alot of useful information.

Is your transmission mechanically sound (as in no issues)? There is a TSB for the 5th gear in the earlier Evo 8's....

Aftermarket Cams will cause this aswell...

Sure its not your valet mode flashing? Knock at an idle is a really rare phenomenon and always attributable to something touching and rattling. Do you have a log of this from Evoscan?
