Stock Exhaust Mani VS. Others???

So i have heard that the stock exhasut mani is perfectly matched to the stock turbo... but with my future setup, ill be running 272 cams, meth inj, other bolt ons running 30 psi.. eventually working on an FP red or green. would i see any HP/TG gains by getting a invida high flow or megan one with the stock?? i would immagine it would be a quicker spool too? Lancershop says its an increase by 20 hp.. but i never believe what dealer sites say... i searched and everything was (does the 8 mani fit the 9??)

thanks!

if you have done your homework, researching before you post, you would have known. Megan headers will crack. Stock Ported will give you what you want.

There are about a million threads covering this like kimry mentioned. Send out your stocker for porting and coating and call it a day.

Megan manifolds tend to crack less if you have a flex section in your downpipe. It would also be wise to fabricate a bracket to further lessen the chance. As far as power, I've heard it really increases torque.

Porting it would be a good option

ok well i searched some more.. still didnt find anything about the megan cracking, but i heard it wasnt preforming better than a stock ported n coated.. did my research into the Invidia and found that it increases about 25 hp on the dyno, but you run into several problems with the radiator. which can be solved by either wraping radiator hose with heat wrap, buy new radiator, or make a custom line around the line..

9sec9 went 9's on a stock ported manifold with the Red, and 10's with a Green.

I say stock is the better. Shorter length piping to the turbo = faster spool.
Port it and you get more volume/mass getting to the turbo than before = increase VE and faster spool

well the stock mani is capable of 9 sec.. but if he where to put a different exhaust mani on there would it have ran faster?

and shorter does mean quicker spool, but the pipes arnt all the same length as a ramhorn manifold

and im trying to be different.. everyone seems to have a ported n coated stocker... id like to have a 10 sec evo with something other than stock.

plus if i sent it to get it ported and coated.. what would i drive? no busses where i live

When I had the white rabbit I went with an aftermarket mani and picked up a little bit of power on the top end. That particular mani never cracked on me the two years that I had it. As for having your stocker ported, check with KevinD. If he's not to busy I'm sure he'll be able to get yours ported pretty quickly.
