Shifting has some kinks in it, normal?

So I've had my IX about a week now, and other then the fact that I love it to death, the shifting seems to have some interference of some sort. Usually shifting between any gears it feels like it's just shifting with no bushings at all, like not smooth at all. It doesn't grind gears, and it's nothing you can hear, it's just not smooth. Do people usually upgrade bushings for this reason such as with STI's?

I describe the shifting of my 06 IX SE as knotchy feeling. Installed Zaklee shifter bushings, they where not the same thickness, the stock rubber ones had ridges on the ends, had to install washers to make them fit tight. After sitting around a couple months I finally installed shifter base bushings. Wasn't expecting much but holy crap shifting felt great, solid, still knotchy though but it shifts great. Drive a WRx, it shifts smooth.

I have a IX MR 6-speed with the Solid shifter bushings, and i even tried changing the trans oil 3 times, nothing seems to help. This tranny is really notchy. There is no way around it besides having your 5 speed rebuilt though shep or a bushwacker. Nobody even rebuilds 6 speeds.
