Get Gas, car wont start, WHY?

When i get gas, my car wont start for awhile after. Its only when i get gas so i am thinking its to do with the air getting out when i take the lid off. Has this happened to anybody else before? And how did you fix the problem?

Never heard of it on a car, but when I used to have my boat, when ever we filled it up with gas it would create an airlock, it eventually cleared itself with a rush of air/fuel mix coming flying back out the cap. maybe it could be a similar thing on your evo. thats all I can think of? maybe try starting the car after youve filled it without putting the cap back on it straight away.

There should still be fuel in the lines though after you stop the car, unless you're pulling your fuel pump fuse. Unless the fuel pump is just having issues getting fuel through the lines but that doesn't make sense that it would only be having issues when you pump your gas.

Happens at any station. Cold start up my car goes to just under 2000 rpms then real low almost stalls(or does stall) and continues doing that until its warm. I am still on stock injectors and sparkplugs, if that helps any. This issue started when i got my cams installed.

When you put it like that, it almost sounds like an air idle controller issue but that shouldn't go away just cuz the car is warm. There are no other issues with it sputtering or low idle after it warms up?

its usually around 1000 rpms when warm, but does get low sometimes. I just opened my cap and closed it, car started right up. A guy at work said after i get gas, close the cap, then open and close it agian. Idk, its real embarassing when my car takes forever to start and everyone is looking at me

i don't imagine you should be having issues with THAT much pressure in your gas tank. besides, the fuel pump should be flowing enough to push that air out of the lines. i've never heard of an evo having those issues. maybe you should check to make sure everythin'gs good with the fuel pump. make sure you have a good connection and check to see if maybe the covering to the fuel pump is tightened all the way.
