Machine Shop messed up BIG TIME!!!!!

well ive been waiting for my block to get finished up and i get the call i go and pick it up well i get to the house take a look and its a 2g block

went back up there and he cant fined mine well i leave and i get a call in about 30min well i have your block but its in the wrong hands a local shop had it and it was done 40 over!!!

my god what next

he gave me 3 options
1. he buys me some new Wisco HDs 40 over instead of 20
2.he sleeves the block
3.or finds a used block

i picked option 3 but id rather it be a new block since mine had 15,000miles on it ill be talking to him tomorrow about my final offer

my ? here being option 1 and 2??

40 i know is huge and if something were to happen later down the road i would half to throw that block away and i cant run alote of boost correct?

and im not to familier with sleeves???

god i just wanted a stock motor stock bore and everything, if i didnt half to do 20 i wouldnt of but now since a melted piston from bad tune my idea was to go 20 over and since i already have 20 over pistons i kinda gotta stick with it even if i get a new block

New Block or lawsuit. you are a paying customer and you shouldnt accept anything less than exactly what you ask for.

^ what he said. Don't accept less. Although a headache, small claims court is your friend.

I would not accept a used block. I say it would be proper for him/the shop to get you a new block (about 1500$) and then you high-tail it out of there to another shop. I would not even think about the sleeve idea...more things to fail in a built motor, iron sleeves in a iron block...pointless and ruining the structural integrity of the motor.

Edit: http://importperformanceparts.net/ <look under: Mitsubishi>OEM Parts

handle the situation calmly and maybe even wellmannered but be assertive.

Your block had 15,000 miles on it. You shouldn't get a new block unless he can't find a used one with fewer than 15,000 miles on it. Honestly it won't matter much as long as the block isn't damaged, especially since you're going to use the 20 over pistons.

Thanks guys for the responce if i get a block it will be done threw JacksonMachine idk why i didnt think about him in the first place

i agree with what your saying 100% but an evo IX block used will be hard to come by and i dont want him to modify an evo 8 block at any means i gave him a great block to work with i want a great block in return just my 2 cents...

again Thanks guys it seems im always in the BAD luck crowd

They should give you a used block with as much mileage as the one you had. I don't think they should give you a NEW block since you didn't give them a new block. They should give you a break/discount/etc and work with you since they're delaying your project.

Guessing you were the guy I talked to earlier. Sorry to hear about the bad luck!

As I said... do NOT take a sleeved block or one at .40 over. Make them cough up that .20 over Evo block or a new one.

.040 over would be cool, but with out having the pistons first to bore to...Sounds like these guys are lost.

I do not recommend going .40 over as I do not think its "cool". I dont recommend my customers doin it either. Its personal preference though and you can do what you want.

The cylinder walls become thin at that point. If you ever have any problem its going to be hard to clean up the cylinder wall without issue. Then you would be back to paying $1800 for a empty block from Mitsu or who knows how much for a used one.
