Sorry about your headache man, but just get another used block. You didn't bring him a new block so don't expect to get a new one back. He made a mistake, that doesn't mean you get something free out of it, it means you get something comparable.

The difference between a block with 15k miles and one with 45k miles is negligible as long as everything is within spec.

It sucks but stay calm, respective and authoritative and it will get resolved.

You didn't bring in a new block so don't be like the other Princesses in here and expect a new one or else you'll sue, LOL.

Do you really want to pay a $150 an hour lawyer to get a used block again in the end?? That's right, no, so don't even mention a lawyer if you want this resolved right away, it's the fastest way to get nowhere in such a small $$ claim and they know it.

I'd see if they can find a low mileage block within a short time frame, if not, take the .30 over and make sure you inform them that new pistons is not a hook up after all of this since the block is done the next time around. I'd have them throw in rings and labor to do all of that on top to break even.

Good Luck

Are you guys sure about the .040 over? I know "forum logic" dictates different and everyone has opinions on the subject, but in talking with some very smart people even .080 over is doable as you're only taking away an extra mm of material from the circumference of the bore (each .020 is a 1/4mm of the bore's radius).

There are cars out there with 2.4l of displacement on a 4G63 running without problems. I'm not talking about running 1000whp here, and I don't think the OP is either.

People were poo-pooing running high boost pressures on pump gas until DB started tuning cars a 30psi on 93.

If those were the only 3 option and you have to go with it, I'll take #2. Sleeves will increase the engine rigidity but there's no point because the 4g63 is cast iron.

Well what ever you choose, think it throughly. You don't want to regret it later on down the road.

I believe they are custom order only. Which I hate to say it, but that just means more wait time. You are looking at somemore downtime for sure.

I am no expert, but do you really need sleeves after only removing 1mm of material (.5 mm from each bore radius) from between the bores on an iron block?
