New Plugs now a lopey Rev

I put in new BPR9ES plugs gapped to .022. When i rev to say 2.5k RPM and hold it, now it kinda has sort of a lope sound in it. Almost hesitant. I also threw a P300 random misfire once. It never used to do this before during slow revving. It was always smooth. Am i using the wrong gap? What else could it be?

Did you mistype or did you really go to colder plugs for no reason?

Yes, you put wrong plugs in, those are for the 8 and are shorter plugs. Swap the stock ones back in or purchase some new plugs for the 9.

Stock heat range:
NGK - ILFR7H
Denso - IKH22

1 step colder:

Denso - IKH24

I bought the IKH24s and the thread is a lot longer than the stock plugs. That a problem?

the threads are longer than the stock plugs or the plugs you have in there now (the wrong plugs)? The evo IX plugs have longer threads then the VIII plugs which is why they are not interchangeable.

Might want to actually read all the posts before you go blasting someone.

+1. BBS is tripping out *weirdo*

Service manual says IX plug gap should be .020 to .024 spec. I gapped my Denso IKH24 to .020.
