So there are no downsides to running the Prolite on the streets?

My vote goes for Pro-lite!!!

No disadvantages whatsoever...

Revs are much faster, I have no problem launching the car, just got the get used to shifting to second gear faster.

agreed, and if you have launch control set up via EMS or something you'll have nothing to worry about.

I love ACT products there top notch. I chose the streetlite flywheel because of everyday street driving and its great. I don't know too much about the prolite but you cant go wrong with ACT either way.

Its tempting to get the flywheel.... but to get it installed will set me back another $500....

Bump for an old thread. One year later I'm still pondering the same thing.

I think I will go for it since I have other parts that need to go on the car anyway thats transmission related. I now have AWD motorsports billet camgear and transmission mounts, a 3-Speed scattershield, and an AMS stainless steel lower clutch line that needs to be installed, so while the transmission is down it'll be worth the cost of labor to have all these parts put in all at once.

Now I wonder, will I need a retune with the lighter flywheel?

Bumping an old thread.

Strongly considering the Prolite but curious about the "CEL warning" as some have mentioned elsewhere online. Is that a possibility? I haven't heard anyone on here mention it but figured I'd ask.

Goal: Quicker revving, easier to rev match, mostly street driving but will hit up a road course shortly.

Thanks!

street lite. Stock is 15lb, its a 12lbs. plenty light. No need to make the car any harder to drive.

I don't like that ACT flywheels don't have anywhere for a dowel between the flywheel and crankshaft.

Balance the crankshaft separate of the clutch and flywheel. Problem solved.

I had my 2.3L parts all balanced when I bought them and had issues with flywheel bolts, not saying it was just because no dowels between crank and flywheel, pretty sure it was a number of things that contributed, no balance shafts, using OEM spec torque, blue loctite etc

The dowel wouldn't prevent bolts from loosening. And you should have been using red loctite, not blue...

Yep, now I am using an Exedy Twin with ARP flywheel bolts, more torque and red loctite! No issues so far.
