evo8 turbo compressor wheel

my compressor wheel is damaged. i want to know where could i buy one from.
preferably used. or even new.
so can someone please help me out somehow then that would be awesome.
its a TD05HRA-10.5T. if the non Titanium Alumnide compressor wheels (from the TD05HR) are the same dimensions then one of those will also do.
or even if the 9.8T compressor wheel work in the 10.5 housing. i would still be interested.
let me know where i could find one.
thanks

Just buy a used Evo VIII turbo; they are cheap. If you buy just a new wheel you'll have to get it professionally rebalanced anyway so it'll end up costing you more.

anyone know of guys who rebuild the td05hra turbos? they might have a slightly damaged one laying around that would do for me.

The titanium-aluminide alloy material was used in the turbine wheel and not the compressor wheel. The VIII 16G turbos all have Inconel steel compressor wheels AFAIK. So, as others have mentioned, you can use any 16G VIII compressor wheel as it will be identical to your existing comp wheel.

How did your comp wheel get damaged anyway? Was it due to ingestion of foreign material, compressor surge, failed bearings, or something else? You may want to call a reputable turbo shop that specializes in rebuilding MHI turbos, such as Forced Performance, or Blouch Turbo and get their opinion.

They would be able to tell you if you can just swap a comp wheel onto the shaft without VSR balancing the CHRA.

The MHI wheels that I've seen come factory balanced. There's a difference between component balancing, which is how most OEM turbos are built, and assembly balanced, which is how most race turbos are made. You can remove the wheel and replace it with a different wheel, and each component will still be balanced. Is this as ideal as a whole rotating assembly that's been balanced? No, but it probably wont be any worse than how the turbo came from Mitsu.

You're thinking of turbine wheels. Most MHI 16g wheels are aluminum.

Here's a place that sells new wheels, just copying a link someone else posted on this forum, no experience with them (prices are in Australian):

Forced Performance has cartons of these wheels, new and used. If ANYONE ever needs a stock EVO8/9 compressor wheel and they are in our customer files having purchased from us before I will give them one for free.

There is a magnesium TME wheel, otherwise they're all the same as far as I know.
