could be.. if urs is sayin sticking open under closed loop (idle and low gears) it is gonna run lean and be pulling timing like that...

jcdevo67,Mine is also the same problem as per the OP, i hope someone can advise on this. I can only bring my car to the workshop this week end, until then was thinking i can get some info from here at least i know what to expect.

Anyways what do u guys mean "sticking"? Sorry for the noob question

Also when the fuel pump fails the car should not be able to start at all right? When the issue happened my fuel pump is making a funny whine noise like the ambulance sound (not the usual walboro whine), the sound can only be heard when the lean idle happens

If you notice that noise again, go behind your passenger seat (left side where fuel pump is located) and listen carefully. Is the noise coming from there? If not, then go behind under your bumper (where SAYC locate) and listen... is the noise from your ayc pump? If it is, that should happen and your SAYC pump is working...
