out of town & need help please. hour into a 300 mile drive started slipping out of 4th. then had trouble downshifiting and wouldn't go into gear. When it did, intermittently there was a high pitched metallic grinding sound. Not all the time. Seemed better at low RPM. DOn't want to get ripped by an out of town repair shop so some advice would be gr8.
